The Preschooler

I will be the first to admit it. I am not a shopper. There I said it. On occasion you will find me in a store buying something I need but I do not view shopping as a recreational sport. As the holiday season is fast approaching I think about the many people who spend hours in stores searching for the perfect gifts for their loved ones. Instead of spending your time waiting in lines and battling with the weather, invest your time with your child.

This December issue of The Preschooler is filled with tips and easy activities you can do with your child. I hope they will help you build a stronger bond and memorable moments.
Trust me, it is time well invested.

Tip for Parents

An easy way to get into the holiday spirit is by creating some simple art activities together. From homemade wrapping paper Hannukah crafts, and art activities with magic.

Teacher's Tip

Before you leave on your holiday break, put up your January bulletin boards. Here are some great pictures I snapped over the years of Winter bulletin board themes.

Values Time

During the holidays we open our doors and invite friends and relatives into our homes. Use the biblical story of Abraham and the Angels to teach your child the valuable lessons of hospitality. Abraham and the Angels.

Overheard

Thank you to Jennifer who submitted this latest Overheard Story:
A little girl in my class was looking at self portraits the children made. She turned to Matthew and said: "You look so handsome in this picture. Like a real man."
Share your
overheard stories and I will post them in the next e-zine.

Reading T.I.M.E.

Here are some of my favorites winter books:
The Snowy Day - Ezra Jack Keats
The Mitten - Jan Brett
Gingerbread Man - Jim Aylesworth
For a full list you can visit
my book store.
