Lessons For Kids
Bible lessons for kids is a
great way to teach
your child family values and proper
social behaviors, such as kindness,
respect, ho nesty, and patience. Let
these Bible stories guide
and
inspire you.
Each
story in the bible is a window of opportunity to teach
our children how to become better people. It is
essential to be mindful
when teaching our kids proper
values and morals. By connecting
the stories to a child's everyday life, the story becomes more
meaningful and also more memorable.
The
story of creation gives us the opportunity to
discuss with
children the beautiful world that G-d created and our duty to preserve
it.
Children
question the rules at
some point in their early ages of development. They eventually become
daring and wonder what will come to them if they were to break the
rules. The story of Adam and Eve is a perfect
source for you to teach your child and begin a discussion
about rules. Remember: MAKE IT MEANINGFUL! Use
everyday examples from your child's experiences when you are teaching
bible lessons for kids.
The
story of Cain
and Abel teaches children the importance of
telling the truth and that G-d sees everything. It also gives
opportunity to discuss with children their own basic emotions such, as
anger,
jealousy, and regret.
The
well-known story of Noah's Ark can be used as a
tool to
deepen your child's faith and connection to G-d, as well as acting as a
means to discuss
tolerance between one another and living in diversity.
One
of the greatest bible lessons for kids is the
story of the Tower
of Babel. It teaches us that even a
unified world cannot sustain itself and survive if
the people in the world do not
have faith in G-d.
When
children are having a play-date, they often end up arguing over two
things: what to play with or and who gets to play with
what. Abraham
was known for many virtues, one of which being hospitality. Take
the time prior to having guests over to discuss with your
child the proper etiquette of being a host, using the story of Abraham
and the Three Angels as an example.
Even
though Jacob
and Esau were twins, they were very different from one
another. Their story can be used as a tool to discuss family
values and family relationships.
The
story of Jacob's
Ladder is the inspiration for many works of art.
Use it to discuss with your child our continuous connection to G-d.
Children love the
story of Joseph
and his colored coat. I use it in class to discuss how
lying can easily pain others and develop from a white lie to something
far worse.
Just
as
dreams are part of our lives, they were also part of the lives of
biblical characters. Joseph, for one, had the ability
to interpret
dreams and was able to foresee his future by the. Compare
Joseph's
talent to those of your child.
The life of Moses was full of excitement. From a baby in the
basket
he grew to become a young shephert and eventually a great
leader
who fought against Pharaoh, parted the Red Sea and decendent Mount
Sinai with the Ten Commandments.
Both
the stories of Jonah and the Whale and Daniel
in the Lions Den can help instill the faith of G-d
in your child.
The
classic story of David and Goliath has a clear
message of
positive thinking, courage and the unconditional faith in
G-d.
Finally,
the story of Samson and Delilah teaches children to trust others
and fight for your believes.
